Where to Vacation in Oahu with a Large Group

There are specific areas on Oahu where you may locate vacation rentals for large groups.

For a summary of each location so you can plan the ideal large-family holiday, keep reading!

Waikiki/Honolulu

If you want to stay close to the well-known Hawaii tourist sites, look for larger vacation rentals in the Waikiki/Honolulu area!

Waikiki Beach

For larger groups, there are numerous homes and apartments available in Honolulu and Waikiki.

The best shops, tourism destinations, and traditional sandy beaches may all be found here. The restaurants, nightlife, and pedestrian pathways in Waikiki are excellent. Waikiki is also a great family destination.

Leeward Side

The 642-acre luxury resort community of Ko Olina is located on the Leeward Side of Oahu. Here you may find the Ko Olina Lagoons, a golf course, and the Aulani Disney Resort.

It’s a gorgeous, well-kept area of the island with a variety of public services available to guests.

Actually, Ko Olina itself has the majority of the sprawling condos and villas for rent. However, occasionally you can discover Oahu vacation rentals in the vicinity of the resort grounds that can accommodate large parties.

North Shore

Consider the area near Turtle Bay Resort if your large group wants to relax and get away from it all.

Compared to the rest of the island, the North Shore is more rocky and remote. You can rent villas inside the resort area or book estates near the resorts.

The best of both worlds, in other words! Enjoy the public amenities at Turtle Bay Resort as well as the breathtaking scenery and surf beaches that North Shore is renowned for. Visit nearby towns or go trekking.

What to Look for in Hawaii Vacation Homes for Large Groups

There are a few factors you’ll want to keep in mind as you choose where to look for the best Oahu vacation rentals for large parties.

This was another criterion I used to select the incredible rentals you may read about below.

Number of Guests Allowed

More than six people will be able to sleep in a larger Oahu villa or house. That was my minimal requirement while looking for holiday homes for larger parties, however, the majority of the ones I found slept an average of 12 to 14.

Remember that short-term rentals must pair no more than 2 adults per room by law. This implies that you should look for more bedrooms the larger your group is.

Type of Rental

You will essentially find enormous mansions, roomy condos, or multilevel villas in Oahu, Hawaii, especially for larger groups of people. This refers to residences with at least three bedrooms spread over several areas.

Typically, resorts will contain condos. In addition to sharing at least one wall with other structures, villas can also stand alone. And they’ll be all over the place.

Location

There are a few Oahu beach villas on my list, along with more inland locations. However, almost every short-term rental property has stunning ocean views and is close to beaches and tourist attractions.

The majority of Oahu villas on the beach are found inside of hotels. They, therefore, arrive with all the amenities the resort provides its visitors!

FAQ about Oahu Vacation Rentals

Are short-term rentals legal in Oahu?

Yes, in most areas of Oahu! Just know that “short-term” is defined as anything 30-days or less. And Oahu vacation rentals for large groups will be around the resort areas of the island. All rental homes are registered and will readily provide paperwork if you want to see it.

What does Oahu have to offer?

While idyllic beaches and surf spots grab the spotlight, don’t ignore the endless list of must-visit eateries, cultural hotspots, coffee farms, and other attractions. Travelers should leave sleeping to luxury hotels and resorts. Honolulu, the state capital of Hawaii and a woefully underappreciated cultural center, is located on the island of Oahu.

What is the best time of year to visit Oahu?

The months of early April, May, September, and early October are the best times to visit Oahu, taking into account the weather, demand for lodgings, and how congested (or not) the island is.
