Best Family Restaurants in Maui
Here are the top restaurants in Maui that are kid-friendly. Each of these will have a Keiki (kids) menu or have traditional foods that children like, so no matter where you choose to eat at, your kids will enjoy the food!
1. Kimo’s Maui
You will find Kimo’s Maui on Front Street in Old Lahaina town. This restaurant has been open for more than 40 years and is the perfect place for your family to eat during your trip.
You will find some tasty options on the Keiki menu, including mac and cheese, cheeseburgers, fried chicken, teriyaki chicken, and fish and chips. Each choice comes with rice, french fries, or fresh fruit.
Kimo’s Maui is open every day from 11:30 am to 9:00 pm.
2. Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman’s
At Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman’s, one of the best Wailea restaurants, you will find live music and delicious food the entire family will love!
If you are visiting with little ones under three years old, they get to eat some noodles and cheese here for free! Otherwise, there is a great Keiki menu, appetizers, and other dishes that everyone will enjoy.
This place is a bit more expensive than most other restaurants, but the food and entertainment here are absolutely incredible. If you go during happy hour, appetizers are on sale, and you can get a pizza for $12!
There are two locations in Maui for this restaurant, one in Wailea and the other in Ka’anapali. Both are open from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm daily.
3. Coconut’s Fish Cafe
Coconut’s Fish Cafe is one of the best family restaurants in Maui! Children under ten can enjoy various items from the Keiki menu, which are all under $8!
This restaurant has everything from tacos to salads, burgers, pasta, fish, soup, and more! There are plenty of healthy options on the menu, too, with gluten-free and low-fat options.
There are two locations for this place to eat in Hawaii; one in Kapaa, Kauai and one in Kihei, Maui. Both are open from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm every day.
4. Kihei Caffe
For some of the best breakfasts on Maui, head to Kihei Caffe. You can eat outside or indoors at this Kihei restaurant, which is great for children.
Grab some delicious breakfast or lunch here. Try a loco moco, some french toast, chicken, fried steak, or a grilled fish sandwich. There is also a kid’s menu for younger children too.
This place to eat is open every day from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm and is located on South Kihei Road.
5. Flatbread Company
Another one of the best restaurants in Maui for families to visit is Flatbread Company. Located in Paia, this is the perfect place to get a handmade pizza and flatbread with local fresh ingredients!
Here you will find organic salads, along with flatbreads, both with and without tomato sauce. You can even create your own pizza if your kids want to. There is no Keiki menu, but what kid doesn’t love pizza?
This restaurant is open every day from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm.
6. Luau
If you are traveling to Maui with toddlers, this might not be the best option, but for older children, take them to a luau! Going to a traditional luau will be so much fun as a family as you learn about Hawaiian culture and eat delicious food.
Most luaus will have a traditional Imu ceremony, followed by an unlimited buffet. Then there is a live show with hula, fire knife dancing, and more!
See if the resort or hotel you are staying at has a luau you can go to or check out any all over the island.
7. Hula Grill Kaanapali
One of the best Kaanapali restaurants for families is the Hula Grill Kaanapali. With indoor and outdoor seating selections and local, fresh food, this is the perfect laid-back location to enjoy with your family.
From cheeseburgers to fried chicken, mac and cheese, and fresh fish and chips, there are plenty of great options on the Keiki menu. Other food selections include fish tacos, ahi steak, Mahi Mahi, and more.
The Hula Grill Kaanapali is open from 11:00 am to 8:45 pm every day of the week for lunch and dinner.
8. Zippy’s
Located in Kahului, Zippy’s is always one of the top kid-friendly restaurants in Maui. You will find just about anything and everything here! It is a great place for families with kids of all ages to enjoy any meal of the day.
Enjoy some traditional plate lunches, such as kalua pig, teriyaki chicken, chicken katsu, or a loco moco. There are American options as well, including roast turkey, beef stew, chili, and spaghetti, amongst other options,
Zippy’s is open every day from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm.
9. Lahaina Fish Co
At one of the places to eat in Lahaina, the Lahaina Fish Co, you will find two levels of sitting, so your family won’t feel too crowded. If your family loves seafood, you will definitely want to stop here! With the ocean views, this also makes for the perfect romantic place to eat in Maui.
Some great options on the kid’s menu include BBQ ribs, corn dogs, and mini burgers. The menu features incredible seafood dishes, such as lobster, shrimp linguini, seafood lau lau, coconut curry, and so much more.
The Lahaina Fish Co is open daily from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
10. Da Kitchen Cafe
You will find plenty of great local food options at Da Kitchen Cafe. It is a more laid-back place to eat that the locals all love. It’s one of our favorite kid-friendly Maui restaurants.
With a few menu items made smaller for children to enjoy, this Maui restaurant will be worth the visit one day during your trip. From kalua pork to chicken katsu, grilled cheese, burgers, and loco mocos, these plate lunches are some of the best on the island!
Located in Kihei, this place is open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.
11. Roy’s
At Roy’s, you will find some of the best food on the island. Roy’s is dedicated to only using the freshest ingredients, especially from local farms across Maui. This is one of Lahaina restaurants you will definitely want to visit!
You will love everything on the menu, especially the garlic-grilled shrimp, baby back ribs, or grilled salmon. They even have a delicious Keiki menu! The entire family will love this place from the happy atmosphere to the incredible food!
Roy’s is open from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm every day of the week.
12. Leilani’s on the Beach
Leilani’s on the Beach is one of the best restaurants in Maui with a view of the stunning ocean. Enjoy indoor or outdoor seating while you eat your dinner here.
From ahi steak to poke, filet mignon, ribs, and more, this restaurant has great ocean views and incredible food! Kids under 12 years old can enjoy anything on the kid’s menu, including cheeseburgers, teriyaki chicken, mac and cheese, and more.
This restaurant is located in Lahaina and is open every night of the week from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
13. Down the Hatch
Come to Down the Hatch for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! This restaurant is located in Lahaina and is another great place to take the family.
Here you will find the best kid’s menu! Your kids will get a free dole whip when they grab any of the meals off the kid’s menu, including popcorn shrimp, fish and fries, quesadillas, waffles, and a few other items.
Other menu items include coconut shrimp, cajun ahi, sweet potato tacos, and dinosaur burger, along with plenty of other great choices.
Down the Hatch is open every day from 7:30 am to 11:30 pm. No reservations are required; simply walk in whenever!
14. Duke’s Maui
Enjoy eating along the Kaanapali Beach at Duke’s Maui. You can eat here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! It is one of the most popular restaurants on Maui, for a good reason.
Here you will find fresh fish and other great meal options. Enjoy some avocado toast, acai bowl, french toast, or a loco moco for breakfast. Your kids will love some cheeseburgers, fried chicken, fish and chips, or teriyaki chicken from the Keiki menu.
Duke’s Maui is open daily from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm.
